Comments

  • Martin || Property prices in Ilfracombe are extremely high considering the low pay in this area and lack of infratructure. -- left at Fri Apr 18 10:31:10 +0000 2008
  • Crydda || reasonable comment from Martin. Prices atr totally unrealistic, especially greedy developers flat conversions, which are about 50% overpriced. Let's face it; in a recession, with a declining holday trade, few jobs and even fewer facilities; who in their right minds would buy in Ilfracombe? -- left at Thu Jun 12 20:59:13 +0000 2008
  • Martin || Property prices dont appear to be dropping at all in Ilfracombe, maybe its because the average wage in Ilfracombe is so high that people will buy at any price, or maybe its because Damien Hirst the local Butchers assistant has opened up a pub. Come on! Bairstow Eves closed on the high street, property in some cases up for sale from before property prices started to crash, look at the two bed at the top of Fore Street been for sale since Noah first built has Ark. -- left at Thu Sep 04 18:33:50 +0000 2008
  • Crydda || It seems that vendors and estate agents in north Devon are still living in 'cloud cukoo land'. No wonder nothing is selling. Potential buyers are not interested in tiny 5% reductions, when the rest of the country is seeing falls of 15% plus and a continuing downward spiral. I guess it means that when the reality hits home, the market here will suffer an even sharper correction than elsewhere. I've heard people say "It won't happen here" or "N. Devon is a special case", but they've not been able to explain why. -- left at Fri Sep 12 08:49:56 +0000 2008
  • AP || Asking prices are only falling slightly, but sold prices are falling by much more. Compare the rightmove index (asking prices) to the land registry (or Halifax / Nationwide) to see what I mean. The Estate Agents are the guilty ones for keeping initial asking prices artificially high. -- left at Mon Sep 29 19:44:10 +0000 2008
