- Garibaldo || We are buyers looking in the area and have seen up to 20k knocked off those houses which have been overpriced.(300-400k) Could be the market was over inflated by thta much anyhow - so could become a good time to grab a bargain. -- left at Wed Aug 29 16:45:37 +0000 2007
- Alan || This is the worst time to buy. Crap areas of London like this will lose 50% over the next 3 years. The party is over. Save your money... -- left at Mon Jan 21 06:25:49 +0000 2008
- hj || you are a bit of a toss pot. there are at least 3 TUBE stations coming to SE23, and its right next to Dulwich. this area will see an increase rather than a decrease. -- left at Mon Feb 11 19:43:22 +0000 2008
- JJ || I just don't think he knows the area. It's not crap by any means - anywhere with the Horniman Museum + gardens and a gastropub like the Dartmouth Arms gets my vote. -- left at Mon Feb 18 17:17:23 +0000 2008
- Joe || Your mad when your clinging onto inflated prices because of a pub and a museum for kids. It's not a bad place but it's far too pricey. -- left at Mon Mar 03 22:19:42 +0000 2008
- || Anyone who calls somebody with a vaild argument, regarding over inflated housing a tospot is, himself a tospot for not understanding the value of credit when determining a price..... -- left at Wed Apr 30 10:41:41 +0000 2008
- RD || Overvalued? Yes. Crap area? No. Probably an area for long term growth, but in the short term (as of now) it is overvalued. -- left at Mon May 26 12:18:21 +0000 2008
- hm || for those of you who dont live in the area honor oak is a bit like dulwich. surrounded by crap areas. these key areas will always hold their value because people want to live there. i could not afford dulwich, so honor oak was the next best thing. much better than catford, forest hill and brockley nd the likes where prices are still cheap. -- left at Wed Jun 04 10:26:21 +0000 2008
- || honor oak is nothing like dulwich -- left at Fri Jun 13 19:47:10 +0000 2008
- || honor oak is pretty good - bit like a village -- left at Mon Jun 30 19:12:06 +0000 2008
- Genral || Real dilenma for me this one. It's hard to see whats going to happen. I've been Renting in FH for over 3years - definately benefits form Dulwich rather than say catford on the other side. To buy or wait until it's overpriced and over run by yuppies.... that is the question! -- left at Fri Aug 29 09:39:11 +0000 2008
- 50% price from July 07 prices by 2011 || Honor Oak is dull and Forest Hill has yet to live up to its supposed potential.... just look at the price drops in SW16 to see whats coming your way... ... Timberrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! -- left at Mon Sep 08 11:22:26 +0000 2008
- Billy || Forrest Hill I think will soon reach it's potenial unfortunately - political moves such as removing the mascdonanlds and the half the off-liesnces have definately improved the image - there is still along way to go... As for prices - Genral - you'll get a better fixed rate buying now... also if you can lock that in for 3-5years and secure a discount from the market price you should be safe. Don't believe predictions form Nationwide or from Estate agents the best people to ask are the investors.... we know the next 2-3years is rocky but the bargains begin now! -- left at Thu Oct 02 13:17:34 +0000 2008
- James || Realistically prices cannot fall anywhere near 50%. I think areas like Forest Hill are likely to fair very well when a recovery happens. It's still relatively cheap compared to the rest of London, it's a nice area with potential (and 'potential' attracts people in itself) AND the tube line will really make a difference. I've started to look now and there are definitely bargains. I think anyone that leaves it too ling is likely to miss out in Forest Hill. -- left at Wed Oct 15 23:18:29 +0000 2008
- mandy || Trying to talk up an area simply because you have either bought there or are trying to sell there is ..... -- left at Tue Oct 28 18:12:37 +0000 2008
- Johnny || Honor oak is nothing like a village. -- left at Thu Oct 30 14:12:40 +0000 2008
- Jack || Honor Oak is almost a full high street with bad positioning, and a winding, modest hill .... can't see why anyone thinks it's better than Forrest Hill...... perhaps the locals have something to do with it!! -- left at Fri Nov 07 12:54:39 +0000 2008
